Welcome to the website of the Toronto Reading Council.
This IRA local reading council has members in the Toronto, Peel, Halton and Durham regions.
The goal of the Toronto Reading Council is to promote reading in our communities and to
further teacher professional development in the areas of reading, writing and language arts.
Toronto Reading Council and OISE/U of T’s Department of Curriculum, Teaching and Learning present: In, Out and About Text on Thursday, October 17th , 2009. Annual Celebration of Writing
The Toronto Reading Council invites poetry writers of all ages to submit a
poem to our annual celebration of writing. We want to recognize outstanding Ontario student and
teacher writers. The winning poetry will be featured on our website. Winners and their schools
will receive a CD with their poetry read by professionals.
