This conference featured children's and young adult authors: Linda Granfield, Richard Scrimger, Frieda Wishinsky, Marsha Skrypuch, Paula Wing, and classroom teachers who have used the authors' books with their students, together with playwright, Tara Goldstein.

Why Jane and John Couldn't Read - And How They Learned 2009
On April 18, 2009, Dr. Rosalie Fink, one of the world leaders in working with striving readers, was the keynote speaker at our spring conference: Why Jane and John Couldn't Read - And How They Learned. Along with local educators: Lena Glaes-Coutts, Elona Hartjez, Laura Hogan and Catriona Sturton we learned about how we can help struggling readers in our K-12 classes become confident readers who read for enjoyment and for information in school and in their lives beyond the school.
